Mohan Karki
Mohan Karki, having served as the Managing Director of the Fundraising and Strategic Planning team at NECC, demonstrated leadership in securing vital funding and strategically planning for organizational growth. With a background as the General Secretary of the Nepal Seattle Society, Mohan tirelessly advocates for community welfare, embodying a philosophy of selfless service. Mohan Karki remains dedicated to utilizing his expertise to drive impactful change and foster a culture of empowerment.
Prajwal Regmi
Prajwal Regmi held volunteer roles in Nepal, Canada, and the United States for professional organizations and non-profit community organizations including Nepali community organizations, local public schools' Parent Teacher Associations and Toastmasters International. He served as the general secretary of NECC and the Nepalese Canadian Society of Edmonton. Prajwal is dedicated to lifelong community service without expecting anything in return, and he believes in the power of persistent dedication of ordinary people to achieve extraordinarily impactful results.
Samagya Karki Aryal
Ms Samagya Karki Aryal is one of the founding members of Nepali Pathshala of Maryland which was established in 2019 under NECC. She assumed the role of principal of Pathshala from 2023. She has been actively involved in teaching Nepali language to US born children of Nepali origin since 2019. She strongly believes in imparting Nepali culture, language and heritage to the younger generation. She works as a Senior Financial Analyst at CVH Healthcare. Samagya lives in Clarksburg, MD with her husband and two children.
Laxman Pradhan
Mr. Laxman Pradhan has been very active in Nepali community in the Greater Washington D.C. area for the last 20 years. He is currently serving as a Vice President – Finance in Nepal Education and Cultural Center (NECC). Prior to this position, he served for six years as a Treasurer in Nepal Education and Cultural Center. He served 12 years in the Nepa Pasa Pucha Amerikaye (NPPA) Executive Committee, 4 years as a President, 4 years as a Vice President and 4 years as a Treasurer before joining NECC. Laxman Pradhan is a CPA by profession and is currently employed at Capital One Bank in McLean, Virginia. He strongly believes in giving back to the community to help promote a sense of unity among community members and the overall well-being of the community. He has helped many Nepali organizations to obtain a tax-exempt status under IRC 501(c)(3). He enjoys helping people in need.
Ramesh Byanjankar
Ramesh Byanjankar has been helping the community as a volunteer both in his native Nepal and in the United States. From a young age, Ramesh dedicated himself to volunteering, contributing to the construction of schools and the preservation of historic sites, including the Bagmati River area at Sankhamul, community halls and restoring stone taps.After relocating to the United States, he participated in various runs to raise funds for good cause such as the Run for Autism and e-library in Dang, Nepal, and supporting 'Hamro Life’. His most recent endeavor involved an extraordinary feat of endurance, running the Moab 240-mile race over four days. This grueling challenge was undertaken to raise funds for the Nepal Education and Cultural Center Trail, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to improving the lives of others through health, education and cultural preservation. Currently, Ramesh is serving as a Treasurer at NECC. His main objective as a treasurer is to have financial transparency and enhance and update the NECC financial infrastructure for timely and accurate reporting and budgeting.
Samikshya Sapkota
Samikshya Sapkota (Sami), is a dedicated Public Health professional committed to fostering positive change within communities through preventive education and health promotion initiatives. Having grown up in the DMV area from a young age, Sami channels her passion for serving the local community she calls “home”. Her roles span from community engagement and resource dissemination to youth mobilization, event coordination and outreach. With a keen eye for sustainability, she also provides invaluable technical support, crafting strategic plans to ensure lasting impact. Sami's leadership shines through her past leadership roles where she championed cultural diversity and inclusivity in projects and teams she's led. Her altruism has been recognized with the prestigious "Legacy Award" from the Office of International Programs and Services. Beyond her professional endeavors, Sami is a cultural bridge-builder, adept at fostering trust and understanding among individuals from diverse backgrounds. She plays a vital role in bridging generational gaps within Nepalese communities and adeptly navigates conflicts arising from cultural differences.
Shakti Regmi
Shakti Regmi is a first-year volunteer at NECC, dedicated to helping others and giving back to the community. He hopes to make a positive impact through his commitment to serving the people around him.Shakti enjoys spending time with his wife and two children in Burtonsville, MD. When time allows, he indulges in sports and outdoor activities such as volleyball, hiking, and golfing.
Janak Acharya
Janak Acharya has previously volunteered in various philanthropic clubs and fundations ( especially for girls empowerment-Rukmini Foundation) and now with NECC from this year. I aspire to make a significant change with the power of collective actions. I am eager to collaborate with like-minded personages and make tangible differences in our community. Janak Resides in Germantown MD with his 2 kids and wife. I love to travel and engage in sports like volleyball, cricket, and Table Tennis.
Ranjita Shrestha
Ranjita Shrestha is serving as Vice Treasurer at Nepal Education and Cultural Center (NECC) since 2022. She has been actively Volunteering at NECC in different areas as needed. She has volunteer experience in different non-profit organizations in Finance, sales, customer service, and management. She has various working experiences in Retail, banking, Post Office, IT sector. Currently, she is working as a Data Developer at ACE in DC. She lives in Clarksburg, MD with her husband and 2 daughters. Ranjita is committed to serving the community through NECC.
