Prajwal Regmi held volunteer roles in Nepal, Canada, and the United States for professional organizations and non-profit community organizations including Nepali community organizations, local public schools' Parent Teacher Associations and Toastmasters International. He served as the general secretary of NECC and the Nepalese Canadian Society of Edmonton. Prajwal is dedicated to lifelong community service without expecting anything in return, and he believes in the power of persistent dedication of ordinary people to achieve extraordinarily impactful results.
Mr. Laxman Pradhan, a Certified Public Accountant, has been a dedicated leader in the Nepali-American community of the Greater Washington D.C. area for over two decades. He previously held the role of NECC Treasurer for six years. Before his tenure at NECC, Mr. Pradhan contributed twelve years to the Nepa Pasa Pucha Amerikaye (NPPA) Executive Committee, serving as President, Vice President, and Treasurer. Professionally, he is employed at Capital One Bank in McLean, Virginia, and also offers tax services through Everest Accounting Services in Silver Spring, Maryland. Mr. Pradhan is passionate about giving back to the community, assisting numerous Nepali organizations in obtaining tax-exempt status under IRC 501(c)(3), and promoting unity and well-being among community members.
Pramod KC, a professional Civil Engineer, is a dedicated and versatile member of the NECC community, known for his unwavering commitment to the center's operations. Whether it's overseeing temple activities, maintaining the property, or contributing to engineering projects, Pramod consistently steps up to ensure everything runs smoothly. His hands-on approach and problem-solving skills make him an invaluable asset to NECC, embodying the spirit of service and community engagement. Mohan Karki, having served as the Managing Director of the Fundraising and Strategic Planning team at NECC (Nepal Education and Cultural Center), demonstrated leadership in securing vital funding and strategically planning for organizational growth. With a background as the General Secretary of the Nepal Seattle Society, Mohan tirelessly advocates for community welfare, embodying a philosophy of selfless service. Mohan Karki remains dedicated to utilizing his expertise to drive impactful change and foster a culture of empowerment.
Samikshya Sapkota (Sami) is a dedicated public health professional and community leader in the DMV area. She specializes in preventive education, youth mobilization, and health promotion, and has been recognized with the Legacy Award from the Office of International Programs and Services. Sami is known for fostering cultural understanding and bridging generational gaps within the Nepali-American community. Her work reflects a deep commitment to inclusivity, sustainability, and community empowerment..
Ramesh Byanjankar brings decades of volunteer experience from Nepal to the U.S. A passionate ultramarathon runner, he has completed races like the Moab 240 to raise funds for NECC’s Trail Project and other charitable causes. Professionally, Ramesh is a Director of Data Analytics and Insights at Fidelity Investments. At NECC, he is committed to enhancing financial transparency and modernizing financial systems to support the center’s long-term sustainability.
Ranjita Shrestha is serving as Vice Treasurer at NECC since 2022 and also volunteers in different areas as needed. She has volunteer experience in different non-profit organizations in Finance, sales, customer service, and management. She has various working experiences in Retail, banking, Post Office, IT sector. Currently, she is working as a Data Developer at ACE in DC. She lives in Clarksburg, MD with her husband and 2 daughters. Ranjita is committed to serving the community through NECC
Anita Gurung coordinates daily rituals, special events, and community services to ensure that Pashupati-Buddha Mandir remains a welcoming and spiritually enriching space for all devotees. She is committed to preserving our cultural traditions and fostering a sense of unity and belonging within our community.
Rajendra Shrestha oversees the maintenance and development of the center's facilities. In addition to his administrative role, he is a certified Jeevan Vigyan yoga instructor, leading weekly Yoga Sadhana sessions that integrate mindfulness, meditation, and holistic well-being practices. Rajendra's dual commitment to both the physical infrastructure and spiritual vitality of NECC reflects his dedication to fostering a harmonious and supportive community environment.
Prabesh Aryal plays a pivotal role in mobilizing resources to support the center's mission. He has also led significant community events, including the Krishna Janmashtami celebration at NECC, fostering cultural unity and engagement. Prafulla Karki brings a rich background in media as a former radio jockey and newspaper editor in Nepal. He manages NECC's digital presence, including donor, sponsor, and volunteer appreciation posts, event coverage, and the creation of promotional materials such as flyers. Prafulla's dedication ensures that the community stays informed and engaged with NECC's activities and initiatives.
Roshan Lal Shrestha serves as the Principal of Nepali Pathshala of Maryland. He is deeply committed to promoting Nepali language and culture, actively creating digital content through Himalayan Vibes to enhance learning experiences and community engagement. Additionally, Roshan directs drama productions, contributing to the cultural enrichment of the community. Shakti enjoys spending time with his wife and two children in Burtonsville, MD. When time allows, he indulges in sports and outdoor activities such as volleyball, hiking, and golfing.
