The Nepal Education and Cultural Center (NECC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Shree Madhav Pokhrel as the new Priest of Pashupati Buddha Mandir, Germantown, MD, effective April 4, 2025. Priest Pokhrel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sanskrit and Karmakanda from Shree Paramananda Sanskrit Gurukulam, Devghat Dham, Nepal Sanskrit University. With deep expertise in Vedic traditions, he has served as a Sanskrit teacher at Shree Bed Bedanga Bidyalaya, Secretary of Shiva Panchayan Mandir, and Priest at Jyotirlingeshwar Mahadev Mandir in Devghat Dham, Nepal. Chosen through a rigorous selection process, his fluency in Sanskrit and mastery of Hindu rituals—from daily pujas to life ceremonies—will uphold the temple’s spiritual integrity. We look forward to his leadership enriching our community.

As we welcome Priest Pokhrel, we extend heartfelt gratitude to Respected Guru Shree Govinda Prasad Adhikari and Guruma Nirmala Adhikari, who will conclude their service in April 2025. During his tenure, Guru Shree Govinda Prasad Adhikari enriched the community with his knowledge, dedication, and commitment to Hindu traditions. His ability to articulate Hindu rituals in English fostered a deeper connection among devotees. His decision to step down to focus on his health aligns with this transition. NECC has supported him through this process, including a well-deserved vacation during his final two weeks.

We invite our community members to join us in welcoming Priest Madhav Pokhrel and expressing our appreciation for Guru Shree Govinda Prasad Adhikari and Guruma Nirmala Adhikari for their dedicated service.
