Maha Shivaratri

On the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri, NECC cordially invites you and your family to join us in celebrating Maha Shivaratri on March 8, 2024, with great joy and devotion. According to the Hindu calendar, the festival is observed on the fourteenth day of the dark (waning) half of the lunar month of Phalguna or Magha. It commemorates the wedding of Shiva and Parvati, as well as the divine dance performed by Lord Shiva, known as the Tandava. NECC wishes you all a Happy Maha Shivaratri.

Priest Welcome and Farewell

Nepal Education and Cultural Center (NECC) is organizing a "Priest Welcome and Farewell" event on February 11, 2024 and all community members are cordially invited to this event at NECC's Pashupati-Buddha Mandir, Germantown, Maryland. Our current priest, Mr. Ramnath Koirala, will be bidding farewell as he embarks on a journey back to his homeland in Nepal to be with his family. A new priest Mr. Govinda Adhikari will be serving the community as the priest of Pashupati Buddha Mandir after priest Mr. Koirala's departure.
