Hamro Wellbeing Initiative

Nepal Education and Cultural Center (NECC) launched the Health and Welfare Initiative (HWI) with a visionary commitment to provide health and social welfare information, education, and services to the community members it serves. The mission of HWI is to enhance and expand NECC’s capacity, fostering the development and implementation of strategic initiatives in health, education, and social welfare services through standard programs and operations. Rooted in a set of core values including respect, integrity, teamwork, the promotion of a healthy and happy community, the importance of family, socio-economic benefit, volunteerism, innovation, character, open dialogue, and critical thinking, HWI embodies a holistic approach to community well-being. Through these principles, NECC seeks to create a positive impact and contribute to the overall betterment of the community it serves.

Here are some of the recent Activities of HWI:

YOGA

We are thrilled to share the successful completion of a series of yoga sessions that took place from July 9 to July 30,2023. Led by theĀ  certified and experienced instructor, Dr. Binita KC, these weekly yoga sessions proved to be an enriching and transformative experience for all participants.

We were delighted to see an enthusiastic response from our community, with more than 30 participants joining us for these sessions. What made these sessions particularly special was the diversegroup of individuals they attracted. Participants ranged from young children to wise elders, highlighting the inclusivity and accessibility of our wellness programs.

Throughout the sessions, Dr. KC’s expert guidance and the participants’ dedication led to a harmonious blend of physical exercise, mental relaxation, and inner peace. Positive feedback from attendees underscored the value of these sessions in promoting overall well-being and fostering a sense of unity within our community. Thank you to all who participated and supported these yoga sessions. Together, we will continue to strive for a healthier, happier, and more vibrant community. WORKOUT

HWI hosted another excellent physical activity, a core strength workout session on June 25, 2023. Led by our dedicated and experienced instructor, Ramesh Byanjankar, this session was a resounding achievement, with over 50 enthusiastic participants spanning a wide range of age groups, from children to the elderly.

The core strength workout session was thoughtfully structured to cater to the varied fitness levels and needs of our diverse community members. Safety and inclusivity were our top priorities, ensuring that everyone could participate comfortably and confidently. Mr. Byanjankar’s expertise and guidance played a pivotal role in delivering a comprehensive core strengthening routine that left all participants feeling invigorated and empowered.

FAMILY 5K RUN

Our family-run program was a resounding success, featuring a delightful 5K run specifically tailored for families, including kids of all ages. The event took place on Oct, 8, 2023, in Urbana District Park, Frederick, MD and it drew an impressive turnout, with around 90 enthusiastic participants eagerly taking part.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement and unity as families came together to enjoy a day of fitness and fun. Parents, children, and even grandparents joined in, creating lasting memories and strengthening the bonds within our community.

It was heartwarming to witness the smiles, laughter, and a shared sense of accomplishment as families crossed the finish line together. This event truly embodied the spirit of togetherness and physical activity, leaving everyone with cherished moments and a strong sense of community. We look forward to hosting more such events in the future to continue promoting health, unity, and joy within our community
